Tour to Dublin
Yesterday, Mr. Dervan’s class went on a tour to our capital city, Dublin. We set off early in the morning. Our first stop was Glasnevin Cemetery. We heard about 1916 and the famous people who are buried there. Next we headed to The Garden of Remembrance in Parnell Square. From there we walked to the G.P.O. on O’Connell Street, passing The Spire as we did. Lastly, we went on The Viking Splash Tour which brought us around the streets of Dublin and then brought us right into the Grand Canal Basin! Some people even got to steer! Others were given free umbrellas to keep the showers off! On our way back to the departure office we nearly bumped into the U.S. Vice President Joe Biden who was speaking in Dublin Castle as we passed! Finally we did a bit of shopping in Liffey Valley and had food in Mother Hubbards. We were really tired after our long day!
