Past Teachers
Some of the past teachers in the school are as follows:
Mr Gerry Mahon – Past Principal, who served from 1961 to his retirement in 2000.
Mrs Maureen Curley who taught in Lisaniskey from 1958 to her retirement in 2000 also.
Mrs Nancy O’Connor, who was another long serving member of staff, form the 1963 till her retirement in 1998. She went to her eternal reward following a brief illness in September 2013. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dhílis.
Ms Fidelma Kelly, who served for a year in a Temporary capacity from Oct 2000 to June 2001. She moved to teach in a Special School in Tullamore.
Mrs Marie Hickey, taught 1st 2nd & 3rd classes for one year, from Sept 2001 to June 2002. She then went to Ballagh NS outside Roscommon town. She has since retired.
Ms Geraldine Kelly, who succeeded Mrs Hickey stayed for a year, before she left to go and teach in Ballinlough, where she later became Principal.
Ms Ursula Walsh taught in the middle room for 31/2 years, from Sept 2003 to Christmas 2006. She left to teach in Brittas, Co. Wicklow, where she still resides.
Ms Anne Naughton, (now Browne) taught 3rd & 4th classes for one year, when we became a 4 teacher school, for the school year, 2007 – 2008. Numbers dropped and she went to Cloontuskert NS off the Redeployment panel. She now teaches in Ballymurray NS.
Ms Catherine Cunniffe (now Gavin) fulfilled a similar role for 3 years from Sept 2010 till June 2013, as our 4th teacher when numbers rose sufficiently, and then subsequently dropped. She moved to Summerhill NS, Athlone, again, off the Redeployment panel.
Mrs Imelda Floyd, who taught with us from Jan 2007 until she retired early due to ill health during the summer of 2014. We wish her a long, healthy and happy retirement.
