After our great successes on the field during the year, resulting in the girls completing the camogie and football double, and the boys winning their hurling final, we had our presentation night on Wednesday evening, after Grandparents’ Day Mass. This time, the weather was beautiful, with the sun shining, as if to make up for raining onthe grandparents earlier in the day. Our camogie and hurling teams were presented with their medals by Colm Kelly, well known Oran and Roscommon hurler of the past, successful coach and manager of camogie and hurling teams, both at club and county levels, both at adult and underage levels. In a nice twist of fate, he presented the boys with medals with his own father’s name on them, as Michael Kelly WAS Mr Hurling and Camogie in Cumann na mBunscol Ros Comáin for years.
The girls were presented their medals by Ollie Lennon, our long time friend, who has been with us in the school many times. Ollie is currently the manager of the Roscommon Ladies’ Football team, so thanks to him for taking time out of his busy schedule to be with us. When all the presentations were over, once again we had refreshments. Sure, why not??
