To round off this year’s Active School Week, we returned to Rockfield GAA pitch for our usual GAA activity Day on Friday May 27th. The weather started cool and breezy, but as the morning progressed, the sun came out, and started to get hotter, and hotter, and hotter. We had hurling, football, obstacle courses, fun races, penalty shoot outs, long puck competitions, and even the ancient Irish sport of “Tug of War!” Oh yeah, and don’t mind Mr Dervan – he was wearing a GALWAY jersey!! I mean, come on!
We had special guests, Games Promotion Officers, Ollie Lennon and Proinsias Killion, who coached us in football and hurling, while Gerry Morris and Cormac Regan also helped out with their Gaelic football expertise to make the day better and more enjoyable. however, possibly the most important, and most welcome visitor of the day was ……….. the ice cream van driver!
What a day! And what an end to a great week! Well done everyone for what you put in to all the activities that were organised for you. Roll on 2023. Have a look at all the fun we had.
