7 A Side Soccer

Friday June 9th saw us travel to Lecarrow to play in our qualifying round of the 7 a side soccer. Our boys were in a group that comprised FourMileHouse A, FourMileHouse B, Rooskey and Ballyforan; games they won well, despite an inability to score. Our girls played games against The Don NS, Taughmaconnell NS and Ballyforan NS. They beat the former, and the latter, but they conceded late on to only get a draw against Taughmaconnell, who also won all their other games. This meant that they had to have a play off against Taughmaconnell to see who progressed. A fine strike from Erin McDermott settled the contest, and the Lisaniskey Ladies went through.
The weather was beautiful, and we had great fun in the sun. We played some lovely football, and we now look forward to the finals, whenever they may be.
